Inside the Rift

[Damien]

The tattoo on Damien's arm slid along his skin and connected to Crade's wrist. Then he said, "Don't let go." Right as Damien said that the walls, ground, people, and tables all shattered and flew away from them. They were standing on nothing and all around them jets of blue, purple, and red plasma like streams lit the sky. Damien looked at Crade and asked slowly, "Beautiful, isn't it?"

[Crade]

Crade looked in aw, he had never seen such a sight in his life. He stood in silence looking at the masterpiece that was the world around him. This made Crade reflect apon the fact that even in a world filled with chaos there was beauty in some places. The power of the colors gave Crade a feeling of fear and respect, he took a few seconds to relax himself and collect himself. He had a feeling he wouldn't get another break for quite some time.

[Damien]

Damien smiled softly and said, "Just don't look down." Damien, being used to visiting the rift in between time, looked down into the ominous black void below him. A shiver ran down his spine. He had never dared to venture down there, but Rashir told him once it was a place where tortured souls resided. Damien then looked back at Crade, "We will be arriving the Training Grounds about..." Damien looked at his watch and continued, "Now." Damien then threw Crade with incredible speed and strength towards what looked like a small rocky island floating along. Damien then activated his flash jump skill and caught up to the kid as he flew towards the island at around the speed of sound and yelled, "Lesson 1, Speed and Agility!"

[Crade]

The last thing Crade said before being tossed was "wha...". After that he couldn't even hear himself think over the rush of wind around him. He was meantaly prepared for this, he only hoped the landing didn't break every bone in his body. No time for second thoughts and even less time to look for a soft spot to land. He let his instincts and reflexis take over and hoped he would't be crushed on impact.

[Damien]

Damien watched Crade flip himself over and hit the rock, and skidded to a stop. Damien himself jumped and landed about ten feet from Crade, clapping slowly. "If you did that in your current physical body you would be dead." Damien yelled at the shocked Crade, "You will need to give your body about a week to adjust to the abilities you will gain here." Damien then put his eye-patch back on and then removed his scarf. He then reached into his bag and put on a set of bracers, and said, "Any questions before we continue training?" Damien then strapped on a small brown headband, and tossed a pair of the same bracers and headband to Crade.

[Crade]

Crade put on the bracers and headband, he looked up at Damien and said " We can chat later, lets get to the training." Crade felt obsurd in the bracers and headband but if it was to help in the training he couldn't care less about looks. He had no idea what Damien's training regime was but right now all that mattered was surviveing the ordeal.

[Damien]

Damien replied, "Have it your way, oh and think fast!" Damien jumped into the air about ten feet above Crade, and whipped out his Fang Knifes and threw one at the kid.

Damien then flipped over and landed. Spinning around he threw another knife at Crade's back.

Damien then sprinted to the side and drew another two Fang Knifes.

[Crade]

Crade attempted to block the first knife with his bracers and duck under the seccond, He didn't know what would happen if he was hit by either knife weather it only meant pain, death, or niether. But he didn't want to find out the hard way.

[Damien]

Damien watched with grim satisfaction as both knifes found their mark on the kid as he readied another knife. Damien threw the Fang Knife harder than the first two and, with his other one in hand charged towards Crade.

[Crade]

Crade was loseing... Badly, though this wasn't a suprise to Crade he was detirmined to at least block one of the attacks out of the onslought Damien was bound to unleash. Though this was no goal that would create heros it would at least prove to himself he might be able to do more someday.

The thrown knife embedded itself into Crade's heart. Damien watched the kid fall to the ground as blood spewed from his mouth. Damien laughed and said, "Get up you big baby, your fine, that doesn't hurt at all. If it did, it wouldn't be good training would it?" Damien then grabbed Crade's hand and pulled him up, pulling out each knife carefully. Damien then snapped his finger and Crade's wounds pulled inward, and then completely disappeared. Damien walked back to his starting point and said, "You want to go again?"

[Crade]

Crade stood himself up and realised it was true, he was fine. He didn't think he would ever beat Damien but he had to try if he was to ever better himself. He caught his breath and said" Lets give it another go" This is going to be a long day he thought to himself

[Damien]

Damien twirled the knife in his hand with his fingers and looked at Crade, "This skill is one of the most important, for every other skill I teach you relies heavily on this. Crade I know you arn't the one to sit around and talk, but here we do have time. While we are here, time stops in the physical realm. That is why I brought you here instead of taking you to a teacher. you won't learn anything if you can't put your mind and body together. Don't focus on the knifes being thrown, take in the whole picture, then move in the most logical way to get the upper hand, when you have truly mastered that, you will see that time will seem to "slow down" and you can move in a more relaxed and logical manner. Do you understand, Crade?" Damien looked at the him carefully, wishing that the boy would listen, for if he didn't, they would never finish...

[Crade]

Crade stopped, he thought about what Damien had just said. It seemed to be one of those things that made less sense the more you thought about it. He continued running it through his thoughts looking at it in as many ways as possible. He understood what Damien was getting at but he just had to figure out how.

Damien suddenly threw the Knife at Crade and then Sprinted to the side again, once again he readied another knife, but at the same time he drew his Crimson Sabre, "Don't lose your focus on the whole picture Crade!" he said.

Something clicked in Crade's head, Just in time for him to see the knife coming at him, at least this time there was hope. He was now getting in the zone, but this was a new idea or even power some might say. He didn't dwell on it he just put this to the test.

Damien was stunned to see Crade sidestep out of the way of the spinning knife and then smiled. Still Damien wasted no time he Jumped into the air throwing his last knife at Crade.

Damien decided not to slash Crade while he was in the air and instead he landed about fifteen feet away from the kid. Damien turned and just stood there waiting to see if his knife finds its mark.

Crade wasn't sucesfull at avoiding this second knife, This wasn't even one of Damiens better throws. Crade decided he couldn't stand around getting whacked around all day so he charged up to Damien and atempted to whack him.

Damien smirked at Crade's punch as it approached his face
Dodge roll= 21 (HOLY CRAP)
Damien sidestepped the punch and pushed Crade back then said, "Well if your going to fight me lets at least even up the odds a bit." Damien then held out his hand and Crade's Ninjato appeared stuck in the ground in front of the kid, "Go on, take it. If you don't you might lose an arm."

Crade Grabbed for the Ninjato.

With a swift flick of the wrist the sword was out of the ground and in Crades hands . He wasted no time in going for his next attack, perhaps he could get back at Damien for that knife.

Damien didn't expect Crade to attack that soon and brought his own blade up to block and...

just couldn't bring his blade up in time. Damien took a slash across his arm and jumped back out of Crade's attack range, "Oh your in for it now, buddy!" Damien said and then he activated Flash Combo, using his skill Damien flashed around Crade attacking five times...

[Crade]

Crade expected Damien to do something like this, He knew he didn't stand much of a chance now. Crade attempted to deffend himself.

Crade took 2 consecutive hits barely blocked one and then took another two. Hell for all he knew Damien missed, that made no difference. Crade swiped at Damien in another attemth to score a hit.

Damien saw this attack coming and tried to dodge again, hoping not to embarrass himself and...

Crade attempted to block the attack

The attack smashed through the ninjato and then through Crade himself. This left him with half of a Ninjato with a crude point at he end, he did the only thing he could do and tried to run Damien through with it.

Damien was surprised at how long Crade was holding out, even though his attacks were getting clumsier with each strike. Damien tried to activate his flash jump to dodge and...

the skill activated and he was now behind Crade. Damien spun around and swung his sword at Crade's side....
